Our Leadership

Cyril Obi attended St. Finbarr’s College (SFC), Akoka, between January 1973 and July 1977. He also studied for his GCE A Levels at Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo, from 1977 to 1979, the University of Benin, Benin-city, and the University of Lagos, Akoka, where he obtained a PhD in Political Science in 1993. He is currently a program director at the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), Brooklyn, New York, where he leads the African Peacebuilding Network (APN) and the Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa program(s). He is married with children. Prof. Obi served as the first Chair of the DJ Slattery Legacy Scholarship Committee and Vice-President of Saint Finbarr’s College Old Boys Association, North America (SFCOBANA). He was honored with the SFCOBANA Distinguished Service Award Award by the association in 2023, and is the current President of SFCOBANA
